Why choose Bellingen for your Wedding Celebration?
Cedar Bar & Kitchen has now hosted over 75 weddings since they opened their doors 4 years ago. Our boss-lady Victoria spills the beans on why the Bellingen shire is such a popular destination for Weddings – from the village vibe, the incredible photography backdrops and more!
The village vibe
With not a traffic light in sight, Bellingen offers couples & their wedding guests the relaxed hippie village vibe – all walking distance from their accommodation & wedding venue. The Bellingen Brewery is a great spot to catch up with your guests the night before your wedding (try the wood fired pizzas!) and then head over the Federal Hotel for a quick boogie before a good night’s sleep. The morning of your wedding stroll down to the river for a quick dip, or wander the boutique shops on Hyde St (the Emporium is a must). There’s always time for a quick 9 holes at the gloriously green Bellingen Golf Club before your afternoon celebration at Cedar Bar & Kitchen situated right in the middle of town in a 112 year-old renovated church.
Eat, drink & be merry
Our head chef Jan know a thing or two about great food – having spent over 5 years in the kitchens of Sydney’s top hotel the Park Hyatt before relocating to Bellingen. Keeping with Bello’s relaxed vibe – all sit down celebrations at Cedar Bar are served share style in the middle of the table. Guests are encouraged to share, chat and feast with couples able to customise their own menu and enjoy a wine tasting prior to select their drinks list for the big day. Alternatively cocktail weddings are a great option for couples that want to spend the night mingling and catching up with guests that may have travelled long distances to get to their wedding.
The photos
The Bellingen Shire offers couples and their photographers the ultimate in wedding photo backdrops – all within a 15 min drive from the centre of town. From the luscious rainforests, to the fairytale Never Never creek or the character buildings that dot the main street of town, there are so many options for couples to choose from. If you don’t feel like leaving the your wedding venue, Cedar Bar offers the picture-perfect traditional church exterior but with a glamorously modern interior.
The people
Bello has always been known as the bohemian home of the Coffs Coast. Our gorgeous town is to home to an amazing collective of photographers, hair & makeup artists, craftspeople, stylists, celebrants and artists. Living and working and Bello has allowed us to build up a reliable network of contacts that I know we can trust to help craft your special day.
